“I went travelling when I was 19 and ended up living in Australia for four years which was an amazing adventure and a time in my life I will never forget.  When I came back to the UK, I started temping at Cable & Wireless in the marketing department and was soon organising exhibitions and events throughout the world.

 

After the birth of my two boys, I worked freelance and helped set up a wedding venue in the derelict stables of a stately home, an amazing challenge.  The venue quickly became successful and established me in the wedding industry. 

 

I then decided to ‘go it alone’ and set up my own wedding planning and events business, Kate Fletcher Events.  I was delighted to organise the wedding of TV celebrity Jimmy Doherty and his wife Michaela.

 

My wedding and events business offered a great opportunity to combine my interest in interiors by styling them too and the idea for Vintage Style Hire came to me overnight. I constantly found myself styling parts of the weddings I organised with furniture and props from my home.  Whilst searching for inspiration for the weddings I planned on various blogs, mainly in the US, I realised there was a gap in the market for vintage hire, design and styling in the UK.  There were very few companies in the UK doing it back then!  I’ve finally found what I truly love and hope I can be part of your plans”
